Deep Thoughts

I saw this statue of George Washington in front of City Hall in Philadelphia and wondered what he would think of the country at the 250 year point. Perhaps he would be amazed that it’s here at all - 250 years is a long time. I have a hard time imagining anything lasting that long, but when I was in England I had a friend who was living in a house that was 400 years old. It had been built from the timbers of a decommissioned sailing ship and was merely considered old…

Toby said he was getting bored and to hurry up and say something funny, but I’ll settle for “Happy 250th!”
