Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

He looks cute and cuddly - like any other seal, but this is the Leopard Seal. His diet consists of penguins and other seals along with fish and krill. This one was sunning himself on an ice floe hoping we would think we were at Sea World and toss him some fish.

Toby thought that was a bad idea. ‘Appeasement never works,’ he exclaimed, summoning up the little bit of mid-20th Century pop history that he remembered. ‘You can’t just toss him treats and expect him to start being good. You have to tell him No and Bad Dog or he’ll never learn to stop eating the other animals!’

As he took off, I wondered exactly what else he thought was around that the Sea Leopard could eat?
